ChangeRes v.1.4 | SW |
90 k |
15 Oct 2008 |
| By Tiriss. If you want to change the version information in a .res (resource) file of your Delphi (win32) or C++ Builder project, but you don't want the hassle of compiling .rc files. Or you just want to do it in a batch file: use the easy way, use ChangeRes.
Simply do on a command prompt or in a batch file:
ChangeRes Project.res [VERSIONINFO] FileVersion=1.2.3.4
And the FileVersion of your Project.res is updated. And if you are building Delphi or C++Builder executables it can update the options file (.dof, .bdsproj or .bpk) for you too. Not only the FileVersion can be updated but other version properties also. Evaluation (time-limit) Source: None Price: $37

Delphi Form to Resource v.1.0 | FW |
397 k |
11 Feb 2002 |
| By HybridGRAF Interactive. This utill converts multiple text or binary DFM (Dephi Forms) to resource format and then it generates a RES (32bit Resource) that contains them for use on a component, dialog, application, etc.
Great for components, just append the RES using Resource Workshop to your own Package Resource or other, that way you wont need the DFM anymore. Fully functional Source: On request

Resoor v.1.12 | FW |
1632 k |
16 Mar 2013 |
| By SoftConstructors. Resource editor for programs. It can import resources from executable files and RES files. It can generate resource files and source files in different programming languages.
Editing data (for example, images) is realized with the use of programs installed on the computer rather than using internal means. It is useful for localization of programs thanks to built-in capabilities of automatic translation into different languages. Program is not able to directly edit resources (in executable files and RES files), but stores them in files in its own format.
It can generate:
- Resource file (*.res or *.rc).
- Autonomous source code file (in Pascal or C++ language).
- INI file (*.ini).

Resource Builder v.3.0.3.25 | SW |
3976 k |
05 May 2011 |
| By Igor Siticov. Do you neeed a simple, powerful and fast resource editor?
With Resource Builder you can create, edit, compile and merge RC scripts to build new resource files (.res) fast. Import resources from existing WIN32 executables and 32-bit/16-bit resource files (RES, DCR). Extract, update and modify any resources in 32-bit executables (EXE files) and libraries (DLL and other files). Edit images and create dialog windows with Visual Dialog Builder. Save any resource item from your RC script to a specified file.
Resource Builder supports JPEGs and can perform graphics conversion to and from BMP, CUR and ICO files. You can also adjust image sizes and quality to get the results you want. Since the program supports DFM (Delphi forms), you can view and edit Delphi's and C++Builder's forms in simple text format. This feature is especially valuable because Resource Builder comes with own text editor that supports syntax highlighting and search-and-replace function. Resource Builder is very well equipped and comes with editors for bitmap, icons, cursors, string table, menu, accelerators, dialogs and version info. HTML and XML support makes Resource Builder a natural choice for any project that might involve web integration.
Finally, the program also allows updating resources in existing executable modules. Plus, files can be compiled both with console or command line, which is great for bulk processing. Conveniently, files can be added by dragging and dropping or with Windows clipboard. Evaluation (time-limit) Source: None Price: $59

Resource Hacker v.3.4.0 | FW |
542 k |
26 Mar 2002 |
| By Angus Johnson. Resource Hacker is a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit Windows executables and resource files (*.res). It incorporates an internal resource script compiler and decompiler and works on Win95, Win98, WinME, WinNT, Win2000 and WinXP operating systems.
Viewing Resources: Cursor, Icon, Bitmap, GIF, AVI, and JPG resource images can be viewed. WAV and MIDI audio resources can be played. Menus, Dialogs, MessageTables, StringTables, Accelerators, Delphi Forms, and VersionInfo resources can be viewed as decompiled resource scripts. Menus and Dialogs can also be viewed as they would appear in a running application.
Saving Resources: Resources can be saved as image files (*.ico, *.bmp etc), as script files (*.rc), as binary resource files (*.res), or as untyped binary files (*.bin).
Modifying Resources: Resources can be modified by replacing the resource with a resource located in another file (*.ico, *.bmp, *.res etc) or by using the internal resource script compiler (for menus, dialogs etc). Dialog controls can also be visually moved and/or resized by clicking and dragging the respective dialog controls prior to recompiling with the internal compiler.
Adding Resources: Resources can be added to an application by copying them from external resource files (*.res).
Deleting Resources: Most compilers add resources into applications which are never used by the application. Removing unused resources can reduce an application's size. Fully functional Source: None

Resource Tuner v.1.99 R6 | SW |
2695 k |
15 Oct 2010 |
| By Heaventools Software. Resource Tuner offers a thorough look at all of the resources (bitmaps, JPEG, PNG, icons, strings, TypeLibs etc) in the file, and allows you to make modifications without needing to recompile the source code. It also allows you to edit the properties of any controls on Delphi forms DFM within the PE file. There's a very strong emphasis on peeking inside Delphi applications and packages.
Resource Tuner reads and lets you edit .xml manifest, embedded in XP executables. And using the XP Visual Style Manifest Wizard, you can allow your legacy application to take advantage of the slick new look. This tweaking tool enables you to view and edit almost anything about a compiled Windows program, from the menus to the dialog boxes to the icons, etc.
On top of all that, this program has one of the best UPX Unpackers built in. Resource Tuner ships with the UPX Unpacker, a start-up processing plug-in for unpacking files compressed with UPX. Now you can open files compressed with UPX even without knowing that: your file will be unpacked automatically. Power users will also appreciate the plug-in API. String Resource Source Manager v.1.1 | FW |
405 k |
29 Jul 1999 |
| By Berend Tober. String Resource Source Manager helps you implement the use of Windows STRINGTABLE resources in your application development by providing a convenient Windows interface for you to define and manage constant identifiers and associated string constants.
The program will use this information to generate an *.RC file defining the STRINGTABLE resource as well as and *.INC file containing the declarations and value assignments for the associated constant identifiers. Then you simply compile the .RC file with BRC.EXE or BRC32.EXE (included with Delphi), and include (using the {$i } compiler directive) the .INC file in units that will read the STRINGTABLE. Then when your application needs a string you invoke the Delphi LoadStr() function, supplying the appropriate constant identifier.
Includes both 16-bit (Windows 3.1 compatible) and 32-bit (handles strings longer than 255 characters in Windows 95) versions. Fully functional Source: N/A

| By Workshell Software. Resource Explorer allows you to view and extract resources within any PE format executable, that is to say nearly all 32-Bit applications and libraries on the Windows platform.
Resource Explorer however does not allow you to edit the resources in these files - this would be breaking copyright law in most cases. Fully functional Source: None
