Does your program need word processing capability? If so, WPTools should be your first choice. With its own RTF engine, WPTools is a collection of components which offers numerous features that the Win32 Richedit2.dll can’t. This control lets you use tables, paragraph frames, headers and footers - including page numbers, bulleted and numbered lists, different types of paragraph alignment (justified, left, right, centered) and various types of tab stops (left, right and decimal), as well as special text attributes, such as hyperlinks or hidden text. Text is formatted with WYSIWYG, including page breaks and which are shown in the editor! Texts can be imported and exported in RTF, HTML and ANSI or you can implement your own formats. The mailmerge functionality is very powerful and extremely versatile.

But the WPTools standard package offers even more – there are several controls for building the user interface, including ready-to-use dialogs, rulers and toolbar controls. A data-sensitive memo control allows you to display formatted text from your database. Another control included is the TWPEdit, which works just like TEdit, but also allows formatted text.
All in all, WPTools is the component for all your word processing needs.
WPTools Bundle
This bundle includes WPTools Standard and the WPReporter add-on.
If you need to build recursive documents like reports you need the WPReporter add-on. This add-on makes it possible for you to create reports or other types of structured text (invoices) using the WPTools RTF-Engine. With WPReporter you first create a report template which contains bands, groups, and data fields. Its band-oriented concept makes it possible to use nested groups to create text in RTF or HTML format - and this much faster than with OLE. You don’t have to rely on external executables any more! While the report is being created the bands can be activated as desired, groups will be looped and data fields will be filled with formatted text or graphics. The report template and the report output are RTF texts.
Plus, WPReporter also includes an evaluation engine which makes it possible to use formulas in WPTools’ table cells. | |
